Design Match No. 7: Multi-Colored Dots Rug & Braille Wall Flat
DM
Here at Domestic Modern we carry a wide variety of rugs with circle patterns as well as polka-dot rugs. Often times finding the perfect pieces to compliment this type of pattern can be a relatively daunting task. The obvious choice is to select accent pieces or even larger pieces with a similar pattern and in a complimentary color. A less obvious selection would be a wall flat. Inhabit creates a line of three-dimensional wall coverings known as “wall flats”. Made from an eco-friendly bamboo pulp wall flats add a very unique and modern twist to a room. The key here is to select patterns that compliment one another but are not identical. Identical patterns are sometimes good, however when you are talking about a wall covering and an area rug that could be overwhelming.
So the perfect choice from the standpoint of pattern selection and color is the Braille Wall Flat from Inhabit and the Estella Multi-Colored Rug carried here at Domestic Modern. Because this rug boasts a wide-spectrum of colors finding a wall covering that matches it well can be tough. So a white wall covering eliminates that challenge. Furthermore the rug adds enough color to the room, to make for the absence of color in the wall covering.
