Modern Tibetan Rugs
DM

If you’ve ever browsed through a home decorating magazine or website, you have undoubtedly stumbled across some mention of modern Tibetan rugs.  In the world of interior design, few items are as highly regarded and sought-after as Tibetan rugs.  So what is it that makes these rugs so special, exactly?

In Tibet, rug weaving is an ancient tradition that dates back hundreds of years.  For centuries, the people of Tibet have been creating these rugs by hand, using only the finest Tibetan highland sheep’s wool.  Tibetan rugs are also unique due to the unusual weaving method used in their creation.  The knots are tied over a rod and then cut, freeing the rod and leaving an even surface.  This process makes Tibetan rugs extremely durable.

However, their high quality is not the only aspect of these rugs that makes them so desirable.  They also feature intricate designs, tasteful colors, and detailed sculpting.  These factors give Tibetan rugs an air of luxury that causes them to truly stand out from the rest.

Modern Tibetan rugs are extremely versatile.  Their subtle coloring and elaborate patterns render them perfect for use as wall decorations in addition to rugs.  This makes it easy to instantly give any room in your house that “far East” feel.

If you choose to use a Tibetan rug in your home design, you won’t be disappointed.  Not only are they gorgeous, but they will last a lifetime as well.
