A Philadelphia based company by the name of Postgreen has created a very unique, environmentally conscious, and modern project: The 100k House. 

The concept behind the 100k house is to construct a home that is not only affordable, but green and esthetically pleasing.  By placing an emphasis on basic functionality, quality, energy efficiency, and sustainability, while forgoing unnecessary flare, Postgreen has created a affordable modern housing that is within reach of many homebuyers.  While the majority of “green” homes are selling for $500k and above, The 100k House is a great way for an entirely new segment of environmentally conscious home buyers to have access to this type of house.

It’s the minimalist feel of the home both on the exterior and interior which gives The 100k House it’s modern look, but it’s also that minimalist feel that creates both a functional living environment and affordability.  With 1,000 square feet of living space on two floors, the home is built with the most affordable, green materials available.  However, the homeowner has the ability to easily upgrade elements of the home, and appliances to create an even higher level of energy efficiency.
